Silvercore has been providing bear safety training to industry professionals, both in person as well as online, for many years, but this marks the first time that I have had the opportunity to sit down and speak with someone who survived a horrific grizzly bear attack by using his pocket knife.

For those of you who are following #silvercorepodcast on social media, you will know that I have been steadily building a custom podcast studio.

If the audio sounds a bit different its because it was recorded on location as I travelled to meet Colin Dowler who was gracious enough to have me in his home and to share with you his harrowing experience of grit and tenacity.

Colin wants to share his story to add to the knowledge base of bear behaviour and encounters so that you are better aware of potential dangers and to motivate you to become properly prepared and educated prior to entering into bear country.

I should warn that there are sections of this podcast that will be intense and graphic and listener discretion is advised.

Alright, here is the much anticipated part 2 of the Train your Brain to WIN series with Ryan Steacy. In part one, I sit down with Ryan to discuss his mental management practices that have allowed him to be the National Service Rifle Champion 5 years in a row. We specifically did part one right before Ryan was to fly to Ottawa to compete at the Connaught Range to see if he could extended his winning streak to a 6th year in a row.

In this episode we delve deeper into Ryan's mental management process, discuss Mental Marksmanship as coined by Keith Cunningham and Linda Miller in their book of the same name, and field some questions from our listeners.

In this episode I talk with Mark Horsley who has recently returned from Australia where he and his shooting partner won silver in their division at the world PPC championships.

Mark is a Staff Sergeant with a local police agency who was responsible for creating and implementing their revolver to semi-auto transition program and returned to his training role to assist in the development of a multi-million dollar range training facility. We talk about what it takes to compete at the world PPC championships, his time training with the FBI at Quantico Virginia, and how he overcame a horrific motorcycle accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury.

Join me as I talk with Graeme Foote about Project Mapleseed, a Canadian version of the American Appleseed marksmanship program, as well as his recent competition in the Snipers Hide cup.

Graeme is a talented photographer and the owner of http://www.amputee-shooter.com where he documents his journey in competitive marksmanship and inspires others to overcome their challenges. Being born with only one hand, Graeme has has seen rifle marksmanship as an extremely positive sport where the playing field has been levelled. Graeme and his friends have also started an "Action Rifle Rimfire" league where they introduce others into PRS style marksmanship while shooting affordable .22 ammo.

In this episode I get the privilege of speaking with Guy Cramer, the CEO of Hyperstealth Biotechnology Corporation.

Guy has created camouflage patterns for militaries all over the world as well as many popular hunting lines. If you have been to a hunting retail store, you have most likely seen his work. Guy has also invented what most felt would be impossible, a light refracting material that allows objects in front to disappear while only showing the background. Essentially, Guy has created an invisible cloak which he explains has practical applications both on and off the battlefield.
